The project involves renovating two residential floors and a roof-level space. The focal point of the renovation is the design of a sculptural spiral staircase at the main void area connecting three levels, including a roof garden level. The newly designed staircase replaces the existing conventional straight-flight concrete staircases. Its dynamic form suggests a more lively design approach for the residence and connects the top level with a glass block bridge, which allows more natural light to penetrate deeply into the interior space of the lower floors. A large mirror is designed at the mid-level to reflect the entire scene for a dramatic spatial effect as people walk through the space.
