GILMORE REDEVELOPMENT
BURNABY

A masterplan is proposed to redevelop the Gilmore skytrain station site as a comprehensive Transit Oriented Development (TOD) that includes residential high-rises, townhouses, office towers, retail units, and a public plaza at ground level. This project serves as the entry gateway for the City of Burnaby. As the first skytrain station from the City of Vancouver along the Millennium Line, the Gilmore skytrain station is located at the corner of the site, with the skytrain rail running diagonally over it, which presents a significant challenge for the project. As a creative design solution, an open public plaza is created around the station, which is integrated with the new architecture and transforms the entire site into an urban centre for the city. Three office towers and five residential buildings are proposed, along with a series of retail units on Dawson Street. Landscaped open spaces are also planned to provide green public areas.
