The project is to renovate two residential floors along and a roof level space. The focal point of the renovation is the design of a spiral staircase at the main void area connecting three levels including a roof garden level. The newly designed sculptural spiral staircase is to replace the existing conventional straight-flight concrete staircases. The dynamic form suggests a more lively design approach for the residence, and connects the top level with a glass block bridge which allows more natural light to penetrate deeply into the interior space of the lower floors. A large mirror is designed at the mid level to reflect the whole scene for a dramatic spatial effect as people walk through the space.
